Documents of Vatican II
On October 11, 1962, Pope John XXIII convened the Second Vatican Council, more commonly referred to as Vatican II. Here the Pope sought to bring about a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit, a "new Pentecost". He hoped to reconcile the world's vast divided Christianity in some way.
From this ecumenical council, which lasted until 1965, came sixteen documents that have greatly shaped the Church since that time. Each one is available for you to read. When you do, you'll appreciate the vastness of what was accomplished and you'll better understand our faith and Church.
